Since it's inception, Free the Funk and Free Records has strived to give the dance music community a new, fresh breathe of life: dedicated to delivering quality house and techno, without sacrificing the final product. We are committed to doing this no matter what outside pressures may appear in the music industry, the economy or politically. No matter what the state of the now commercial, electronica scene or the remaining dedicated, dance music underground may be. It is our goal to stay true to the music.
You might ask, "Why two labels?" We say, "Why not?" Our sound can not be condensed into just any one genre. Undeniable influence and musical diversity has shaped the way we feel about, and produce music. Therefore it would be unimaginable to cater or water down our sound in anyway. Our goal is to remain unrestricted. So, we leave things just the way they are... FREE!
